Circus of Love cushion crochet pattern

circus of love crochet patternCircus of Love cushion crochet pattern finished!

I have been busy this month working on a pattern to be featured in issue 71 of Simply Crochet magazine. It has just been finished and sent off to be photographed ready for publication in May 2018!

The cushion’s lettering is inspired by the writing found at the circus and on carousels and I had a ball designing it!  Each letter is made with a serif and contrast edge to make it look ‘3D’ and then they are each individually decorated.  The cushion is finished off with some brightly coloured ‘flourishes’ to echo the swirls found on the jumping horses.

The cushion is made of beautiful bright colours which are a bit of a departure from my normal pastel pallete.  I used Paintbox Cotton DK which is still my ‘go to’ yarn as the choice of colours is brilliant, it gives beautiful stitch definition and only costs £2.79 per 50g ball. The pattern is designed to cover a 30cm x 40cm feather cushion insert which I think makes it the perfect ‘feature’ cushion…and with those bright colours it really is a feature!

The pattern will be published in Simply Crochet magazine issue 71 which will be published in May but, as usual, I will post on here when it goes live so that you know when you can get hold of it!
