Cadbury’s Creme Egg Cover ready for Easter! Cadbury’s Creme Eggs are part of Easter in my house – they are the perfect antidote to the long Winter evenings with their delicious chocolate shell and wonderful gooey interior…bliss!
My crochet egg pattern has been a long-term favourite as it creates a beautiful hanging decoration perfect for an Easter tree or to brighten up your home but of course it has one major flaw – you can’t eat it! So, I decided that the wonderful (and edible!) Cadbury’s Creme Egg needed a revamp and decided to create a Cadbury’s Creme Egg Cover in crochet!
Unlike the crochet egg pattern this version doesn’t completely encase the egg (you need to be able to get the egg out!) and in fact buttons up at the back – whether it is a cover or a ‘cosy’ I don’t know (if anyone can tell me the difference please get in touch!) but what I do know is that it transforms something that was already pretty epic into a mini work of art!
The pattern is really easy and uses DK yarn (I used Paintbox Yarns Cotton DK) and is a great way of using up scraps. Whether you want to go mad with stripes, tasteful with bands of colour or whether you want to adorn your eggs with straight stitched flowers this is a great stash buster.
Mine are currently nestling in a bowl brightening up my kitchen. I know it’s only January but it really can never be too early to be thinking about the Spring and the joy of Easter and that is what this Cadbury’s Creme Egg Cover does for me.
The pattern is available for sale through LoveCrafts.com for £1. So go on, bring some gooey chocolate joy into your life with this cute pattern!
