Crochet Chocolate Egg Chick pattern

Crochet chocolate egg chick pattern for charity!

An amazing local charity, Hospice in the Weald is running a ‘Knit-a-Chick’ campaign to raise funds.  I have always known they are a wonderful charity but I unfortunately came into close contact with them recently when some dear friends sadly lost their wonderful wife/mother.  She spent her last few days there and I was overwhelmed by the love and care provided by the Hospice.

Her family suggested I write a crochet version of the ‘Knit-a-chick’ in her memory.  She was incredibly creative and an amazing seamstress and creative writer so it seems apt to remember her with a crochet pattern.

The crochet chocolate egg chick pattern is really simple and very quick to work up.  It uses Paintbox Cotton DK yarn in Daffodil Yellow, Vintage Pink and a tiny bit of Pure Black with a 4mm hook.  It is sized to fit a Cadbury’s Creme Egg but it will fit most chocolate eggs 🙂

Knit(or Crochet)-a-Chick campaign

If you would like to get involved in the knit(or crochet)-a-chick it is really easy!  All you need to do is to download and follow the crochet or knitting pattern. You can be as creative with the colours of the chicks as you like!

Once you have made as many chicks as you would like to, please send them by post to: Knit-a-Chick Campaign, Hospice in the Weald, Maidstone Road, Pembury TN2 4TA. The chicks will then be sold at the Hospice reception and in their 27 charity shops, to raise vital funds for Hospice in the Weald.

I really hope you enjoy the pattern and as ever I love to see photos of your creations on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest or email to millie@rubyandcustard.com.
