Crochet pirate owl hat

I have been having lots of fun this week designing a pirate owl hat! It is an adaptation of my ‘regular’ owl hats, but this one has a special tied bandana and an eye patch! It’s made of cotton yarn so it will keep a little head warm while being a true statement of style! 🙂

This little pirate owl hat is destined for India (I do love being ‘international’) – A lovely friend asked if I could make something for a friend with twins in India and she gave me some creative license so I was able to sit down and play with some designs I have had in my head for a while and I definitely wanted to try a pirate owl for the little boy!

All of my hats are handmade using high quality cotton yarns and can of course be made as big (or small) as required and in lots of different color combinations! I sell a pink owl, a hot pink and turquoise owl and a blue owl from stock and I can make other colors to order. There are some amazing pirate owls out there and I was particularly taken by this owl which I came across on Pinterest – the pattern is available on Etsy if you would like to make him! Isn’t he fabulous! Look at the little details!

Pirates seem to be very much in fashion at the moment and there are some brilliant pirate accessories for girls and boys out there. I particularly love this print from Bobby Rocks at notonthehighstreet.com. It’s great because it could be used in a kid’s bedroom but it’s also grown up enough to be used just as a piece of art. Very cool!
