Crochet raffia bag pattern – not one but two! My latest commission from Simply Crochet magazine was for two crochet raffia bag patterns and they were so much fun to create!

I used Rico Designs Creative paper which is (as you might guess from the name) is yarn made of 100% paper fibre but it has a coating which although it is very lightweight, makes it really robust and strong! The colour choices are just beautiful and perfect for Summery crochet makes. The yarn works up on a 6mm hook and is really fun to work with.
The first crochet raffia bag pattern was for a clutch and I wanted to create something that screamed Summer, sunshine and good times! I think this design is so summery that I can almost feel the sand between my toes and the warm sunshine on my face…bliss…

I really love the shells on the bag. They really add to the Summer feeling and they look like little smiles!
The second raffia bag pattern was for a shoulder bag and I chose this gorgeous pink and blue yarn to make it with.

This bag pattern has a really robust handle to ensure it will take weight when carrying things (I think in my head I mean a bottle of wine if I’m being honest – lockdown has been long and hard!)

The bag is secured at the top with a loop and button and it is decorated with an animal inspired pattern. I can’t wait to sling it over my shoulder and head to the park with it!
I hope you are all keeping well
