Forget your colouring books for grown-ups as regularly featuring in the Amazon and Sunday Times bestsellers list (although I note that one of the best rated is by another Millie so it must be good!), crochet has the best de-stressing properties ever!  Yes, crochet the new mindfulness is here to stay!

Life has been a bit stressful of late which is why I’ve been a bit quiet. I spent some time with my head down getting on with life but crochet and it’s simplicity have seen me through.

Mindfulness, in case you aren’t familiar with it (as this is an online dictionary definition rather than my own) is described as a very simple form of meditation that was little known in the West until recently. A typical meditation consists of focusing your full attention on your breath as it flows in and out of your body. Activities like colouring for grown ups have taken off as they allow the individual to clear their mind and just focus on a single simple task…yes, but you can get that and more from crochet! The wonderful rhythm and the simple fact you will have something  beautiful at the end of it all…crochet wins on all counts!
