Crochet wedding birds

Little white crochet wedding bird fly away!

I’ve just finished a big commission and I wanted to do something to clear my mind – in culinary terms ‘cleanse my palette’ – I’ve had an idea for a while that I wanted to create a mini version of a bird pattern I wrote earlier in the year. So I sat down with some new Sirdar Baby DK and a hook and tried to create something a bit smaller and a little bit more dove-like.

We are off to a couple of weddings over the coming weeks and I was really inspired by the current trend for vintage style.  I have also made some wedding bunting in a similar vintage style and I think these little birds are perfect to complement it!

I’m really chuffed with it but if anyone know of any resources or has any advice on making crochet pattern writing easier it would be gratefully received!

Wedding birds are available to buy direct from me at Ruby & Custard.  If you would like to find out more please get in touch at millie@rubyandcustard.com or see my FAQs page.

[…] This free pattern will (hopefully) enable you to produce your very own little crochet birds.  Each little bird has button eyes, delicate wings and can be hung by a length of pretty ribbon.  This pattern shows the birds in colored stripes but they would look just as lovely in one color, like the cream crochet wedding birds.
