Crochet book deadline….

line of crochet yarnThe crochet book deadline is looming – the crochet book manuscript has to be submitted on 2 February – less than 1 week away!

All the patterns were written before new year and I am now working through the second and hopefully final proofs of each pattern. I must admit that I find it incredibly hard to proof read my own work but like everything else in life the more you do something the better you get.   As some of the patterns were written 3 months ago I’m now able to look at them with fresh eyes and spot the things that just don’t look right.

I’m also making some patterns in different colour ways as now I have pulled all the visuals together I can see that there are a couple too many items in the same colours (my favourites) and a couple that jar with one another.

It’s exciting and I am still really enjoying it but doing everything 36 times over (the number of patterns in the book) is daunting.

Time Management

I joke that I have more time now I have 2 children, a 4-day a week job and a book to write than I ever did before.

‘If you want something done, ask a busy person to do it. The more things you do, the more you can do.’

Lucille Ball

The above statement is completely true! Also, I find that the less time I have, the more I appreciate it.

Just because I am busy life doesn’t stop. Baby Custard will need to be rebranded as toddler Custard as he is now confidently walking and I had to submit applications for my little girl’s school place last week. Time is marching on apace but I am relishing every moment. I hope you are too.
