Happy crochet 2017 to you all! I’ve had a very busy few weeks of crochet pattern writing which is why I have been a bit quiet of late.
I finished a baby blanket pattern called ‘Counting Sheep’ for Inside Crochet magazine that will be published in issue 88 on around 31 March. It’s part of their issue celebrating British wool and is made using the very beautiful Wendy Ramsdale DK yarn which is 100% Masham sheep’s wool, dyed, spun and balled in Yorkshire, and a joy to work with. It’s a unisex, baby blanket pattern with fluffy little sheep that is guaranteed to ensure little people are kept warm and cosy while also being a lovely keepsake. I’ll let you know when the magazine has been published!
I have also just finished a free crochet valentine pattern for a Love Heart sweet cushion for the fabulous LoveCrochet.com blog using the amazing Paintbox Yarns range. The pattern will be published in very early February and I will let you know when it is available. The pattern uses just 2 balls of Paintbox Yarns Aran for the base and 1 ball of Paintbox Yarns Cotton DK meaning you can make the whole cushion for under £7!
Paintbox Yarns, in particular the Cotton DK range have become my new ‘go to’ range – the choice of colour is just amazing – 56 shades!!! That literally means I can always find the perfect color and it only costs £2.40 per ball which is incredible value for such high quality yarn!
My latest project has my eyes firmly set on the Spring sunshine – a Miami-chic inspired pineapple cushion pattern! Inspired by the high street interiors trend for pineapples (they seem to be everywhere!) I have been playing with ways to get the pineapples to pop out of the fabric to get a really 3D effect. It’s so much fun to play with ideas until I get the perfect result!
Watch this space for some sunshine inspired pineapples and updates on patterns being published! Finally, I hope you are all having a lovely 2017

P.s Thank you to everyone who has bought the book and especially to the very many people who have taken time to contact me about your makes and favorite patterns. I really do love receiving your messages!
Do you happen to have a pattern that has lemons.
Not yet but that is a great idea!
