Valentine and love inspired crochet is becoming addictive! Here is my crochet version of a ‘Love Heart’ sweet. It is a super simple, free, crochet pattern to create your own ‘Love Heart’ sweet.
I have always loved Love Heart sweets – they remind me so much of my childhood! Love Hearts are produced by UK firm, Swizzels Matlow Ltd celebrating 60 years of love this year! The first love heart sweet was created in 1954!
Love Hearts are a traditional UK sweet, although I was quite surprised to see that there is a One Direction version….
The free valentine love heart sweet pattern is to crochet your own love heart sweet. I have used mine to decorate a card but I am sure that you will come up with something even more creative than that!
If you do make something, please do share it with me – I love to see what people have made and how they have adapted my patterns – it gives me so much joy to think that I might have inspired someone. Please email photos (and any questions) to millie@rubyandcustard.com

P.S if you are wondering what happened to all those sweets, then here is the un-cropped version of the above photo with 2 little hands edging towards the sweets…it also shows the brilliant technical wizardry of my photography – that is the inside back cover of my shopping list book (completely white card!), on my kitchen table. Oh yes. All mod-cons here! My 2 year old daughter had never seen so many sweets in one place and couldn’t believe her eyes!
