Everything is coming up roses at R&C HQ at the moment!
I spent a lovely morning at a shopping centre earlier in the week with a friend, and we spent a long time browsing in the Cath Kidston shop, and in particular looking at fabrics to be used in another project. I brought home some swatches to see how they would look at home and I’ve fallen in love with one called ‘Trailing Floral‘ in blue. Isn’t is beautiful?
The gorgeous roses in the pattern inspired me to create a vintage style rose crocheted wreath. The wreath is made of twisted clematis which gives it a lovely old-fashioned feel and it is decorated with crocheted pink roses and leaves. I think it would be lovely anywhere in the house or as a decoration at a vintage themed event.
I popped around to my lovely neighbour and borrowed her front door for the photo – isn’t her front door colour fabulous?

That wreath is beautiful! i love the Cath Kidston fabric too!
I was just curious as to why you don’t allow people to sell the goods they make from one of your patterns?
When someone does this sells using your pattern they always reference your pattern and the link where to get it.
Wouldn’t that be more pattern sales for you?
Hi Sandy, Good question! I don’t actually sell any of my patterns outside of my book; the ones I publish for free are because I genuinely want people to enjoy crochet as much as I do and love to share my ideas. It’s because I have published the patterns for people to enjoy that I am uncomfortable with people making money from them. If people want to make things for charity from my free patterns I will always say yes though 🙂
